Oh Anna

I figured this would be a better spot to put all my celebrity related song parodies rather than two different spots. Here's my first entry and an explanation:

Due to an email I received from an acquaintance I had to write this ode to my favorite Chicago news anchor the one and only Anna Davlantes. This is sung to the song "Oh Mandy" by Barry Manilow. I'm surprised some wacky DJ doesn't hire me to write parody songs for them.

Oh Anna

I remember you on channel 5
Snowing as they kick it to you live
Talking to the anchorman
A face through on my TV window
Reading in the night
The night goes into

Sunday evening, just another day
Happy people read the news that way
Looking in your eyes
I see a memory
I never realized
You made me so happy, oh Anna

Well you came and read news without taking
But I sent you away, oh Anna
Well you talked to me and stopped me from waiting
I need you today, oh Anna

I'm standing on the edge of time
Won’t buy the Trib spend one more dime
Caught up in a world of news anchors climbing
The tears are in my mind
And nothing is rhyming, oh Anna

Well you came and read news without taking
But I sent you away, oh Anna
Well you talked to me and stopped me from waiting
I need you today, oh Anna

Yesterday's news I face the morning
Waiting on the news
A big story is calling, oh Anna

Well you came and read news without taking
But I sent you away, oh Anna
Well you talked to me and stopped me from waiting
I need you today, oh Anna
