Admittedly this was a stretch as a celebrity but Mary-Ellis Bunim passed away on 1/30/04. She was one of the co-creators of a bunch of reality show most famous of them being The Real World. Where seven strangers are picked to live in a house where their lives are tape to see what happens when people stop being polite and start getting real. Yeah I’m a big geek. She is also the founding force behind MTV2, since MTV played most of her shows and no actual music videos they had to create a station that played the music videos, key word being “played” since then are playing a lot of the same crap that MTV plays. Where art thou Fab 5 Freddy?

Goodbye Mary-Ellis Bunim
Thought I knew your shows well
You put a bunch of punk kids
At the top of a Vegas hotel
If it weren’t for you
We’d have no reality TV
MTV had to play videos
If shows didn’t do too well

And it seemed to me you lived your life
Like a candle in the wind
Never know when to have
Regular kids living in
Some pimped out house downtown
Record all their fighting
Make them all look like some clowns
