Yeaaaaaa now with links

In my grade school grasp of HTML I was able to add links to the side bar there. Two links really, one to my other blog site kind of a running monologue and the other to my former R&R co-worker and fellow corporate whore Chris, who now resides in Ohio.

Richard Biggs--Babylon 5 and soap operas 5/25

Richard Biggs some guy who was on Babylon 5 and some soaps died today. No vigil since he's really not a celebrity in my estimation. The only reason I felt I had to write the song is because if he wanted to he could of had a great name for porno movies, added bonus I got a Sixteen Candles reference in there.

Goodbye Richard Biggs
Babylon and soap geeks no you well
You had the grace on that space ship
Your bad costumes sure would tell
You crawled out of nowhere
With a goal all the same
There was soap opera fame
I think you missed your calling with that last name

And it seemed to me you lived your life
Like a candle in the wind
Could have been a porn star
Using Dick Biggs name again
And even though I don’t know you
I had to write this song
You had a great porn name
As good as Long Duck Dong’s

Tony Randall sitcom legend 5/18

Sitcom legend Tony Randall died last night. There are only three things I can tell you about Tony Randall 1) he was on The Odd Couple 2) he was married to some woman a lot younger than him. Do a google image search the wife was pretty hot considering Tony was 50 years older than she was. Makes you wonder what was going on in that relationship. 3) He would appear regularly on Letterman and Conan even when he wasn't pimpig something. I always got the impression that he wasn't interested in the ladies if you know what I'm saying. Vigil at the usual time and place tonight. I'll be there dressed as Oscar Madison.

Goodbye Tony Randall
Jack Klugman knew you well
You had the grace to be so clean
The Odd Couple would surely tell
You crawled out of nowhere
With a young wife at your hands
Became a sitcom legend
After that hardly worked again

And it seemed to me that you lived your life
Like a candle in the wind
After The Odd Couple never hitting in big
Like Klugman’s Quincy surely did
And I would have liked to know you
But I was just a kid
Your candle burned out long before
Your young wife’s ever did.

Floyd Kalber Chicago News Legend 5/14

Chicago new legend Floyd Kalber passed away
yesterday. Floyd was the guy who channel 7 would use
when none of the other anchors wanted to work namely
major holidays. I also remember for him talking like
he had marbles in his mouth on the 4:30 newscasts
on channel 7. The version also includes shout outs to
Fahey Flynn, Walter Jacobson, and Jerry Taft. I'm sure
my favorite Chicago newscaster John Drummond will
be at the vigil tonight.

Goodbye Floyd Kalber
Fahey Flynn knew you pretty well
On days you told us the news
Annunciating not too well
You were on the newscast
When other anchors did not work
You were never drunk
I bet Jacobson’s a jerk

And it seemed to me you lived you life
Like a candle in the wind
Never knowing when to say
Here’s Jerry with the weather again
And it seemed like I knew you
When I was just a kid
Your candle burned out long before
Your talking head ever did

Woo Hoo

Candle in the Wind Celebrity Remixes gets a new look. Reminded me of a Hallmark condolence card. Ah the lighthouse makes me feel at ease with the world...

Alan King 4/9/04

Alan King comedy legend is no longer among the living. One of the only comedians to actually have his name appear in a Beastie Boys song.

Goodbye Alan King
The Friar’s Club knew you well
You had the grace to tell a joke
Some weren’t funny from what I could tell
Always saw you in a tux
You crawled out of New York City
Telling your jokes not knowing when to stop
Became a comedy legend
Can you explain the career of Carrot Top?

And it seemed to me you lived your life
Like a candle in the wind
Always telling jokes
Like so many others did
And I really never knew you
I know that Johnny Carson did
Your candle burned out
Long before you jokes ever did
