Michael Vale Advertising Icon 12/28/05

Well he does fall below the Branigan line name wise but you all know who the guy is. You don't know his name but you do know who he is. I'm not even going to give a mini bio here just check out the remix its all in there. I'm personally a fan of the white powdered sugar ones with the chocolate creme inside. RIP Michael Vale.

Goodbye Michael Vale
Thought I knew you pretty well
You had the make the donuts
Those commercials sure did tell
You crawled out of bed
With a paper hat in your hand
Became a commercial icon
Time to make the donuts again

And it seemed to me that you lived your life
Like a candle in the wind
Never knowing when to make
Crullers or cake donuts again
And I seemed like I know you
Since I was a kid
Your candle burned out long before
Your catch phrase ever did

Welcome

Welcome visitors via www.metafilter.com. I'd like to say first that all the CITW remixes aren't intended to be funny. SUre some are tongue in cheek, I'd say 80%, but there are others that are more of a lasting CITW tributes for celebrities. This all got started when I wrote one for What's Happenin' star Fred "Rerun" Berry and this is where its gone so far. If you want to see more of the less tongue in cheek ones check out the recent one for Peter Jennings and Johnny Carson. Thanks for stopping by and if you want to check out my other blog there's a link in the sausage links called "Kevin's Ramblings" about every day stuff. I just got back from doing hurricane relief stuff in Waveland Mississippi and posted a few pics there.

Richard Pryor 12/10/05

Well overthe weekend Richard Pryor went to the big comdy club in the sky. Admittedly at my age I didn't hear too much of his early stuff the first time around but later on in his life. I did know he was from Peoria Illinois and I feel sorry for the guy for that fact alone. Anyway here it is CITW, Richard Pryor:

Goodbye Richard Pryor
Thought I knew you pretty well
You could swear a blue streak
Your albums sure would tell
You crawled out of Peoria
With a dream in your hand
Became a comedy legend
Why’d you do Superman III again?

And it seemed to me you lived your life
Like a candle in the wind
Never knowing when to say
Honky to Chevy Chase again
And I would have liked to know you
But I was just a kid
Your candle burned out long beforeStir Crazy every did

Pat Morita--Mr Miyagi 11/24/05

Yep ist a little late I was out of town. I seriously watched Karate Kid the weekend before Pat Morita died. As we were watching it my 8 year old son said, "He's not teaching him karate he's just getting him to do his work."

Fear does not exist on this blog does it? NO SINSEI!
Pain does not exist on this blog does it? NO SINSEI!

Rest in peace Mr Miyagi, you turned Daniel-son from a little boy into a karate machine. Sweep the leg, Johnny!

Goodbye Pat Morita
You taught Daniel LaRusso pretty well
Owned a restaurant and Arnold was your name
Daniel-son beat Cobra Kai the movie would tell
You crawled out of nowhere
Immigrant parents were at hand
Became a famous Asian actor
Tell Daniel-son to paint the fence again

And it seemed to me you lived your life
Like a candle in the wind
Never knowing when to teach
Punches to the Karate Kid again
And I would have liked to know you
But I was just a kid
You candle burned out long before
Your crane technique ever did
